Default stumbled upon one of my dream cars

Hello, my name is Dave, and I live in Pennsylvania. A few months ago, I was searching for a nice size sedan. I was mostly looking at new cars, but nothing was really exciting me.

While searching, I was finding "related links" to other vehicles, and came across a Jaguar X-Type Sport. I had tried to buy an X-Type Sport a few years ago, but every time I found one optioned out the way I wanted, it either sold before I could get to it, or it wasn't as nice in person as online.

So I started looking at the X-types again. While searching, I saw "related links" for other Jaguars, and spotted an XJ8L.

The XJ's have been a dream car of mine ever since the 80's body style with the quad headlights. When I found an 05 XJ8L in the correct color combination, with the options I wanted, AND a nice price tag, I had to go check it out. Again, it wasn't as perfect in person as it looked online, but it still looked very nice. It needed a few repairs, but nothing major. I decided to buy it, and I have been very happy with my decision.

Most of the repairs were lighting issues, which I have already sorted out. I also upgraded the side marker lighting, trunk lighting, and license plate lighting to LED's(except the side markers in the fenders, haven't messed with them yet). The driver's side front door lock does not work properly, but thanks to the information provided by some of the members here, I will have that sorted out soon as well.

Thanks you to all of the contributors on the board. I have actually been reading posts on the board for a while, but just recently joined.

I am sure I will have questions as I go along, but I will try to search out the answer prior to making a new post. Thanks!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! As you can tell, I don't get much time to surf on here, but I really appreciate the time that everyone spends providing assistance here on the forum.

Hopefully I will be able to contribute to the group in the future as well, but for now, I will absorb as much as I can. As soon as the weather permits, I will snap some pics and post them up. Any excuse to jump behind the wheel, and go for a drive!
