Smile Took the plunge

Hello Everyone
Well I took the plunge and purchased the 2002 XKR. I am retired and live in South Carolina. Previous cars included a number of Rivieras, '63, '84, '92; Mercedes SLK; Miata. This Jag is quartz with black top and oatmeal trim. It has only 35,000 miles but no service history. I had a Jag mechanic check it out presale. He found it to be in excellent shape mechanically and cosmetically. Upon delivery I found everything working properly. I intend to put some miles on the car and then have my local Jag shop change all the fluids so I can start to establish a service record. I do know that the engine has the plastic tensioners which will need attention soon. I have a couple of questions. TheJagWrangler has a kit to convert the factory coolant idiot pointer to a real temperature gauge. Has anyone installed one? And I am not a fan of the double 5 wheels. I would like to put on Hydras. I see that they are for 03-06 models. I have not been able to find a definitive yes or no on whether they will fit on a 2002 XKR. Having this forum available gave me the confidence to buy the Jaguar. I look forward to being a member.

Welcome to the forums tsj,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
