Post Touch screen

Hi everyone,

I found this site by accident and thought someone might help me with a question.

I want some info about what might be wrong with my touch screen module. I have a 2005 VDP, red with only 53K miles. My dream car, finally, before I got too old to get in and out of it.

Anyway, only the left buttons on the screen operate. The ones on the right--sometimes, but rarely. I press them, but nothing happens even using different pressure.

So, before I pay for a whole new sensor panel (which is what I know the dealer is going to say); what could the problem be? A fuse or something or a wire?

I ask b/c I am female and don't want to be taken advantage of. Particularly b/c I think I got duped with the last repair of my brake pads. My car still has a full warranty.

Anyway, I was told when I needed new brake pads in December, that my front rotors were scratched, but the back were OK "for now"; but "close to being scratched". However, the repair consultant said I needed 4 new rotors just to keep things balanced. Jaguar "always installs 4 new rotors even when only 2 rotors are bad. That's just the way we do things."
Did I get duped into a $3000 brake job.

But, back to the touch screen...
Any ideas???

Thanks,
Cookie

Welcome to the forum Cookie,

I have to agree with Jim, sounds like they saw you coming, but now you can ask here for a second opinion in future.

Welcome to the Forum I think I would look for a independent or another dealer. Good Luck with your problem. Also my wife's name is Cookie. So I'm partial to that name.

Hello Cookie and welcome to jaguarforums.com.

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.
