Tune ups for XJS
Hello All,
I just joined and have a question about my 1990 Jag XJS V12 bright red convertible. I have always loved the style of these cars and decided to buy one. So far, I love it and she rides smooth and is a blast. I get lots of looks and compliments even in LA car culture. I just bought it and she only has 25k miles on the odometer. Everything works well besides the AC. I am wondering how often to get tune ups? The car gets up to speed quickly, but I am wondering since it has low miles, what should I do to keep it running well and reliable. Are there things that should be done NOW to keep her running well? I had the radiator flushed and oil changed and use the best gas.
I appreciate feedback and am pleased to have joined this forum.
Thanks so much.
Ray

Welcome to the Forums.
At the top of the XJS Tech Section are numerous stickies that will help you.
Since this is NOT teh Tech Section, I will only state:
ALL the fluids.
ALL the filters.
Spark plugs.
Dist cap and rotor.
HT leads.
Repeat in 5 years.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Ray,
I emphasise Grant's list and add anything RUBBER. Hoses and bushes deteriorate over time as well as distance. I also wouldn't throw a Jaguar around on tyres more than five years old.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xjs-x27-32/ to the XJS forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-western-38/ to find other members in your region.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Ray,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar XJS!
After you get new tires on it and the rest of the list Grant and GGG have given you, the very best way to treat your Jaguar is to DRIVE IT!! These cars do Not like sitting in the garage. They were meant to be Driven (not like they're made of glass either!) and they know it.
