Default the v12 hole has been dug.

My name is Nathan, my wife decided that she wanted a Jag. XJS to be exact. She found one. Nicely garaged it's whole life not a ding in it. The owner hooked the drivers side tail light with something and broke the lens. He parked it when "some white smoke came out of the tailpipe" No problem says I, just a head gasket. We fired her up and sure enough one cylinder missing in the a bank. No rod knock nothing. We have a builder. Seller was nice enough to have it towed under his AAA insurance to our place and we even drove her into the garage. Weeeelllllll! That was almost a year ago.

Pulled the engine Saturday.

After much deliberation as to what to do next we have decided to do a thorough rebuild with some mechanical and electrical improvements along the way. May punch out the cylinders or stroke it or??? But we are keeping the engine. No lump for us. The viper v10 was looking pretty tasty though. I will start my build thread in the next few days so that anyone that wants to steer me can add their input as it will be very welcome. Keep up the good ideas in the posts. Hopefully I can pull a rabbit out of my hat too.

Cheers

Welcome Nathan!
I had a similar dilemma when I got my XJS. Both head gaskets were blown but I found a low mileage V12 for less than what it would have cost me for the gasket set.
You'll be glad you kept the V12!
