Default What have I DONE?!

Well...

I just went and bought a Jaguar XJ6. Except it has the HE V12 and the TH400. They kept the 6cyl final drive though. Supposedly a Series 2, but the body is Series 3 except the triangle windows in the front doors. There is some Arden styling on it that was fitted when the car was restored in the UK back in 1999. It also received new upholstery. Of course, it needs as few things. Thankfully it came complete with an original spares catalog and a repair manual 👌

Issues:
- Hunting at idle
- Incredibly sloppy door gaps (fixed)
- Non functional right side high beam (bad ground. fixed)
- Sticky front right brake caliper
- Some interior details needs fixing
- Paint touch-up and polishing needed.

I'll post some pictures in a bit.

Anyway, I've been in to cars, motorcycles, boats and music for as far back as I can remember and I've always wanted an XJ so... it was high time at age 55... Old enough to fit the stereotypical Jag owner image, I guess.

All the best,
Alf

Welcome to the Forums.

Looks good from here.

For engine/trans etc assist, the XJS Tech Section is where most of the V12 people hang out. Lots of stickies at the top that may help also

Body etc assist would be the Series 1/2/3 Tech section.

Good luck.

Hello, Alf,
Congratulations on your "new" Jaguar V-12!
It's good you have all those spares and things, Including manuals.
That will make your continued restoration a Lot easier.

You're gonna have Such fun!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome Alf, that's a great looking car you've got. Beautiful color combination. Good luck getting her back to new like condition.
