X Type Jaguar 2008 Diesel won't start
We live in Mallorca. 6 months ago, car showed "gear box" problems and picture of engine. stopped. waited 2 mins, re-started and it cleared. this happened weekly to start, then every 2 days, then daily, so took to Jaguar dealer in Palma. They had it for over a week and said they could not get their computer to work so started replacing bits, like sensors. We asked them to stop as this could cost us a fortune! They did not know what the problem was, so we told them to put back the parts they took off and we drove it home (1 hour).
after 2 days in the garage, we drove it down the road 800 metres and the engine cut out. Has not started ever since. had it towed back to my garage. our local mechanic and I have replaced various sensors and parts, had the computer mended as there was a fault but it still won't start. The fuel is getting through OK. It turns over but just won't start.
I'm a little wary about having it towed back to Jaguar in Palma, as altho the manager was helpful, we did find that the drivers door had several dents in it. Not sure how this happened as it was in our garage after the drive home. Any idea's??
