Angry X350 main cooling fan

HI Guys

Can anybody through some light on an issues

When the car is running the main cooling fan is running at full speed. I had it checked to see if it was a fault with the actual fan, however that was not the case. Could this be the cooling sensor? The temperature is running at 1/2 way up the gauge.

Has anyone come across this before

Welcome Maurie and greetings from down under.

Before directing you to the X350 forum where the gurus can answer your specific tech question, I would first jump to User CP on the main menu bar to Edit Signature and enter the year, model, engine, variant - so this vital info appears in all your future posts. This (trust me) is all the more critical when (like me) you are blessed with something rather more unique than the norm. While there, you can experiment with including pics . . . either Edit Avatar or using Manage Attachments below the typing box when entering posts.

So, dive in and enjoy!

The fan controller is programmed to "fail on" so the fan will run at maximum if there is a fault in the control circuit.

Could be a number of things that cause this, even something as simple as the signal wire from the engine ECU being open circuit.
