Default Xj12 noob in need of advice

Hello everyone, my name is Roger. So i recently went against everyone's judgement and bought myself a 1995 jaguar xj12. The car turns on and ive driven it from one end of my block to the other but id like to get everything under the hood checked out before i take it any further. Now, i dont know anything about jaguars except that something about this xj12 just makes me really happy but im willing to put in the time, money and effort to have it running like it should so anything at all that might help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums Roger,

Congratulations on the decision to go against everyone's judgement! I know how that is. Now it is up to you to show them maybe it wasn't such a bad idea after all. This last-generation XJ12 was put together very nicely and you won't find any others around unless you really seek them out. It is super rare. But don't let that lead you to think you can't find parts, you can. Many parts are the same as found on the much more common (as uncommon cars go) XJ6 of the same year (X300). There are aftermarket parts available for this car too. If the engine and transmission seem good now, you shouldn't have any trouble keeping it going for a long time.

Hoping your find is still in decent condition. At this age there may be immediate needs. Don't be afraid to get some dirt on your hands. It is Jaguar dirt after all! Get right over to the X300 and X305 (and X27) sections, browse the topics, and ask your questions. Easy enough on the X305 section, it is quite small compared to the others! Best of luck, it is always great to see another one of these cars make it into the hands of a caring owner.
