XJ8 from Germany
Hi there!
I registered a few days ago and finally found some time to do my introduction.
I'm David from Frankfurt, Germany.
I bought my Jaguar 1998 XJ8 4.0 Souvereign (MY 1999) a few weeks ago and absolutely LOVE that car !
It is a fantastic drive even with a few problems but I guess there will be no car without any faults.
It's great to be here and I always liked to be a member of US-boards as I really love your DIY attitude!!
All the best,
David

Thanks all!
I already found a lot of valuable information here!
I try my best to give some of it back whenever I can!
And Jim, thanks for "upgrading" me!!!
I indeed found it kind of annoying not to be able to look at members albums, uploaded pics, or PDFs and instead of it get the message that I'm not allowed to...
Thanks,
David
P.S.
Whow - I can even upload attachments!

From X308 to X400 - Or how addicted can you get by Jaguar ???
Cheers Mates,
some might remember me from a few posts and FAQs in the XJ / X308 section, others might stumble upon my future posts in the X-Type section.
I used to own a stunning looking and wonderful behaving black 1999 XJ8 Sport which I sold last Year.
Ever since I lustered about owning a Jaguar again. And two weeks ago it happened ...
I stumbled upon a wonderful looking fully loaded RED (!!!) X-Type with cream interiour.
I instantly fell in love with the car and bought it right away on the phone.
(I know, I know, ... I will probably pay the price later, but I'm up to the challenge. )
It's a 2003 X-Type 3.0 V6 Sport AWD with a manual transmission (a first to me in a Jaguar!).
I still have to sort out a few things, do some rust prevention, change some oils, but just minor tasks.
The X-Type drives very well. Much more like a sports car then it's predecessor the mighty XJ8 4.0 V8.
I very much like the handling of the smaller X-Type but I sometimes miss the spacious interiour of the noticeable wider X308.
Attached you'll find a few pics new vs old ...
(Meanwhile the X-Type got a mesh grill and bigger OEM chrome tail pipe finishers.)
Cheers,
David
