Sometimes I question my sanity.....I have 7 other cars and....I just picked up a 1994 XJS convert. Beautiful car, and seems to run OK, 40K on odometer. However, it seems like the infamous Jaguar gremlins are starting to pop-up already.

1. Hood latch no longer works. I ordered a new short (10.5 inch) cable. Anyone have a good procedure for the install?

2. Remote does not work, even with new battery. Key (looks to be original) turns right in door, but does not lock doors. It will not turn left (in either door). Doors and trunk DO lock from inside....

Any help on these problems will be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi, RAN! I am a newbie on the forum too, and although I cannot help you with any of your problems, I wanted to welcome you. I have a 1995 XJS 2+2 Convertible with just 20,000 miles on the clock!! No problems yet, but I'm sure we will both need the help and advice of all these nice people at one time or another! Enjoy your beautiful car!!
