Does anyone have a recommendation for a reputable jaguar service facility in Northern New Jersey. I have a 1999 XK8 and the check engine light comes on after a few minutes and the vehicle starts to run rough like it has a misfire from one of the cylinders. It also goes into a limp mode and will not rev over 4,000 rpm’s when the check engine light comes on. I just had the trans pan and gasket replaced, the oil pan gasket replaced, power steering rack replaced, and the coolant housing reservoir replaced. Every time a start the car it’s like a dice roll on what will go wrong next. I really want to enjoy it for a few years.

This vehicle could cost you a lot of money unless you approach repairs and maintenance in a more proactive manner. You could put it into a shop and let them get on with it OR do some initial investigation yourself to determine the cause of the CEL illuminating. Have the codes read and post them in the model forum for advice on what they mean and the possible causes. Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
