XKR 2003 Parts
I love my 03 XKR but parts are getting hard to find. I am thinking of selling the car. Is it worth keeping it, or does anyone think I can still find parts.
Is there any where to find older parts? My car has been at the mechanics for over a month waiting to find a line that goes from the engine to the oil cooler in the very
front of the car.
Sell or keep?
thanks for your help!

If you can't or won't DIY the repairs and maintenance on a used luxury car be prepared to spend a lot of money.
Can you search for parts?
Have you tried EBay as with old cars used is sometimes the only source of parts.

Welcome to the Forums.
I hear you, and that era of parts is drying up.
Not so the earlier cars, like the Series Sedans, XJS, and the 60's beasts.
Mechanics are generally lazy, and rely on dealers, not good.
Down here, I have never used a Dealer hydraulic hose, Enzed, Pirtek, or ANY Tractor repair outfit cam MAKE any hose assembly you want, and generally for peanuts.
A\Oil cooler hose for one of teh V12's, a few years back, $150. NLA Jaguar 20 years ago.
Outside the box thinking is paramoint with ANY Classic type car, no matter the Brand.

Hello, Bill,
Whether your Jag is "worth keeping" depends on your value criteria and how much you actually "love it."
If you only want to put gas in it and drive the wheels off without another thought, it might not be worth your trouble anymore because by this age things WILL start to go wrong and need care.
.
If, however, you're willing to learn some Hands On DIY skills, you could find Great satisfaction in keeping your Jag on the road for a good long time to come. And, there's also the benefit of knowing which car is yours in the parking lot without asking which one answers your button.
I have discovered Parts Are Where You Find Them.
I've found parts, some of them quite rare (as in, "Only One Available") on eBay (but I only need ONE!) or even Amazon.
Google, who know where Everything is on the planet, has directed me to some private sellers I knew nothing about before searching.
Let your fingers do the walking for parts before you decided to push your Jag or junk it.

If it was mine and that 'tube' was not available, I would make one of same size metal (Copper/Aluminum), bend it to shape and install proper fittings on each end. Cant be any harder than making a custom Brake Line.
A number of parts are 'shared' by some Ford, Subaru, and Mazda models. Jag is being a PAIN in not supporting their Used Car models after only 10-15 years. The only 'Sports Car' wrecking/Salvage yard I am aware of is in Fontana, Calif. I don't have their e-mail or web address. But you might try the 'National Salvage Yard' registry @ www.Car-Part.com (Year Make, Model and name-of-part.)
