Hi just bought a 1996 XK8 Convertible, took it for a run around the back of Clevedon Auckland, the roads are not great. We had a horror ride, everytime we cam across a bit of a bumpy patch we got a terrible scraping noise, as if the car was bottoming out. We are sure the shocks and springs are good the only thing i could see is it still has the original air deflectors that sit in front of the front wheels and these have been ground back considerable, im assuming from bumpy roads. My question to the forum is 1. has anyone lese experienced the same issue, - there is not a lot fo ground clearance anyway on the XK8 and im a heavy guy - perhaps i need to go on a diet!!!
2, If it is just the air deflectors - do i need them i note some of the later models of the same series dint have them.
3.Anyone got any other ideas what the problem might be.
