Great shots Jimmy, must have been a super day out. Were the Jags taking the hill or mainly on expo'?

Thanks Richard.

It was a great day out, they did go up the hill, including a restored Lindner - nocker low drag e type. They didn't take XJ13 up though which was a shame, didn't risk it with its price..

They were all doing demo runs and some were being driven like they should too which was lovely to see.

So evocative.....God bless the JDHT to get them out and about and use them too. Market value of the XJ13 anyone? If a Ferrari Testarossa gets $10 million, I'd expect this to reach more if it ever went for sale, it never will of course.

A nice little group of true greats that give a little insight into the true heritage of the Jaguar racing legend.

Great pics, just gorgeous, an era when Jaguar were real jaguars. They are D type of cars I love. When Jaguar could compete with Ferrari at half the price. He was no musician like his father, but he brought car manufacuring to an art and spread to a much larger crowd. Thank you Sir Lyon.

Thanks for the replies

It was amazing being around such machinery, and being used like it should.

Sean B, From checking, Cant find an official value for XJ13 but in 1996 they turned down £7 million..(Now I dread to think) I arrived early to take the photos before the barriers were put up around her, it was quite amazing being so close to such an amazing machine. it would have been great to hear the V12 fire up though!

James.

Photos like that make me wish I had some old tapes of the races those models were used in. Timeless is 100% correct!

Great photos. I love the XJ13. There was a row of them at Pebble Beach in 2010. It was amazing to see a bunch of them all together. I'll have to see if I can find the photos of them.
