Default 17" Eagle Alloy Wheels

These were on my 1993 XJS. I went back to the original 15" Lattice so the Eagles are up for sale. The spacers are included.

The tires are 235/45 R 17 Continental ContiPro Contact.
Not a lot of tread remaining but the did just make it through inspection.

Default Wheels and tires

What are you asking for the set?

Do you know what the offset is on the wheels and how thick are the wheel adaptors?

Thanks

$400 for the set. I should know the offset - but I don't. I'll do some measurements and get back to you.
Are you in California? Shipping might be as much as the wheels are worth! ;-)

Default Offset and size info

Look inside the wheel(s) and there should a series of numbers cast in there. Make a note of them and Email me back. The info we need is there......

Default Other markings inside the wheels?

There should be some other casting numbers inside the wheel(s)- something that reads ET xx (where xx is 2 numbers). That tells me what offset they are.
Let me know if there is anything else in there...

That's it for numbers. I think the 770 means 77.0 mm which is just over 3" which looks about right.

Default Offset

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure 770 means 77 mm offset. Usually Jag wheels have a 33mm offset to fit properly. With your 77mm minus the 1" adaptors (25mm) gives you 52 mm total which (I think) would give you clearance problems inboard.

Can you make this measurement for me:

1) Turn the wheel/tire over, outside face down
2) Lay a straightedge over the inside sidewall of the tire, across the center of the wheel
3) Measure down from the straightedge squarely to the inner mounting face of the wheel. Let me know what that number is.

Thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew - Sorry I didn't get back to you right away. A local yokel said he wanted them and would pick them up over the weekend. He finally said he had an "Unexpected Dental Bill" and didn't have the money! So . . . .

I checked the numbers again. Each spoke has something stamped on it but nothing related to offset. The distance from the rim to the mounting surface is 6 inches. I believe that is actually called Rear Spacing. Offset is the distance from the centerline of the wheel to the mounting surface.

Default Wheels

I think you're right on the offset/back spacing thing. Usually wheel mfrs cast the offset inside the wheel with the wheel size so there is no confusion.

I'll check the 6" backspace measurement against one of my XJR wheels.

One thing- isn't a 235 tire a bit narrow for an 8" wide wheel? My XJR wheels are 17x8 and the factory tire was a 255-45 17. Did you have any rubbing issues anywhere- front/rear?

Thanks

I'm not doing to well describing this deal! ;-))
They are actually 245/45 R 17.
However, I wouldn't put much value on them.
They would be OK to drive around a bit but I would plan on getting new tires fairly soon.
