98 XJ8L NEEDS WORK $2500 OBO or Trade
I have a 1998 XJ8L with around 130k miles, that has been vandalized and in need of repairs. An opportunity for a guy to pick up a cheap rebuilder or good parts car.
Long story made short I am the shop foreman at a busy shop, and an intoxicated employee was let go and decided to come vandalize my car. He smashed out the rear glass, cracked the front windshield, and it needs new carpet inside and a few other interior pieces. There is also a dent in the driver's door, and it needs a replacement rear bumper.
We did about $2k in repair work at the shop shortly before it was parked. New tires, brakes, wiper motor and some other things.
Police are not doing anything for me and I'd like to sell the car at a major loss for $2500 or possible trade for another vehicle, motorcycle/ATV, tools, or ??? I am planning on moving soon and need to let this go. Makes me sick to even see it like this.

Well.. Large wrecking yard chain (LKQ) is paying me $2100 for it next week as it sits. I have tried places such as autorader.com and craigslist and have not seen anything of decent condition for under $5k, and that is nation wide. Perhaps you have some better sources than I? Where are you finding these cars in the $4-5k range? Locally only? I'd like to pick up another if I could find anything decent in that price range....

'98 XJ8, BRG/ oatmeal, engine updates all fresh, factory rebuilt trans previously installed, excellent tires, $4500 after I replace the cracked windshield and renew the headliner.$3800 if you want to take care of those yourself.
'99 VDP, Black/ cashmere, 85K, new tires, $7K when I perform all engine updates, or $8500 with Jaguar factory rebuilt sleeved engine installed instead (50k documented on engine). Fresh trans service included.
Those are both mine, I can also do a 2001 XJ8L Topaz/ cashmere, 65K, with the factory rebuilt installed for $7500. That would include the new rubber and trans service as well.
