FS[MidWest]: 99 XK8 for sale $7700 obo
99 XK8 Convertible for sale close to Chicago. 100,000 miles, New secondary chain tensioners, Recent embroidered leather front seat covers and top boot, Tires about 60% left, New battery, New front calipers, rotors, and ceramic pads, Mina cold air intake, 61,000 mile trans recently flushed and installed, vintage luggage rack on trunk, E Type louvers in hood, NO LEAKS, Spare top and cylinders included. Now the not so great stuff....The body is very solid but has a couple dings from po, and there is some touchup paint on some spots. The car still gets a lot of positive comments, but I would paint her. There is a very very very slight ticking on the right bank of the engine when it is hot. The console lid needs recovered. The radio knob doesn't work the way it should, but I am able to control everything from the steering wheel. The switch for the passenger seat forward and back is broken.(sometimes?) I am selling her, because I cannot work on her anymore, due to my health. I can't see well, and my hands shake. My X Type is still under warranty. Private message me if you have anymore questions. Thank you........Mike
Mike - sorry to see you sell her after all the work you've done!!! Good luck with the sale
on a side note - love the Leaper on the tonneau cover and seats - where did you get this done??

Hi Steve......I bought the seat covers, and tonneau cover off of Ebay, from some shop around you, that was selling them for a bargain price, because the people never picked them up. I am having a hard time with this decision, but I look like a monkey working on anything anymore. My eyes suck, my hands shake, and standing on my feet too long hurts my back. Getting old sucks. I guess all those years working out in the 5 degrees F, on my knees, or in 130 degree heat at the steel mill have caught up to me. If she doesn't sell, that might be ok too I guess.....Take care......Mike
Since I really don't know what the ticking noise is, and I don't want to screw anyone, I am dropping the price to $6300
I priced out a head from a yard, and gaskets to replace it, and came up with close to $400 in parts. I figure the job is worth a couple of days of playing around, so this is how I came up with the new number.......Be cool.....Mike

Nice car and great price. I know none of us want to consider this but at what point does a better price come in a parting out project?
This seems like a very good deal and it sounds like it has been looked after.
