Not sure about the differences in dyno's but i should be running the 1/4 at Santa Pod ( UK )on the 16/5/2015 , so I'm sure that will tell a story

Yup, Trap speed/MPH will tell us EVERYTHING about how much power you're making exactly...

Attached is the dyno run showing the 529 rwhp, and the 3rd run with 503 rwhp.

The 2nd one (not shown) was 515. I have seen a video of the runs, and that showed there was too little time between the runs, form the 529 to 515, there was just 1 minute in between, and that is not enough to get the heat out of the intercooler system, so the dropping values are actually as expected as the ECU is retarding the ignition.

I still have little reference to get to an indicated drive train loss on this particular dyno type, my best guess so for this would be about 10% (maybe 12%, but let’s stay conservative). The base line run of 337 rwhp would then have been about 374 engine hp, not to far of off the stock 390 ehp.

Using this loss now. It would mean for the top run about 587 ehp, and the average of the three 572 ehp.

If I would calculate that back to a dynojet type of dyno and use than the 17% drivetrain loss on the average 572 ehp, it comes to about 474 rwhp, which is actually in the expected range for this setup.

Am also looking forward to the ¼ mile run now!

Last but not least, look at the power line of the 529 rhp run, there is absolutely no dropping in power, promising more potential even!

Avos, thank you. Questions, questions....

This dyno run was done on an STR?

Why does the Dynapack heading include "4WD" when the STR is rwd?

Is this the full 600+ chp mod, i.e. T/S S/C, bored-out T/B, redesigned air intske, MAF, etc?

Rough idea of materials cost and labour hours of skilled mechanic to install?

This was on a 2003 4.2 XJR, engine wise the same as the STR, the kit is also the same.

The dyno is a 4 wheel (actually you would have to say 4 axle) dyno, just have a google. On this car only the rear axle was measured.

This is the kit, how much power in total you can get I have no idea, of course you can go higher. Here you see the results now with a 3" upper pulley. When you want to go further at least higher octane fuel or water/meth kit is required.

It is some time that I have done this car, I would say in work probably about 24 hours.

VERY interesting design of the throttle-body eblow to the blower-inlet...

The position of the throttlebody is MUCH different than stock... yet stil a stock throttlebody nonetheless... interesting...

Nice results avos, this is effectively putting out more power than the modified 5.0SC cars put down!

Default useful pic

That was a useful picture of the XJR setup but the XKR would route the intake very differently I think. Is there a similar picture of that about?

AVOS,

I'm hitting the scene late, have you developed a TS set up for the STR and if so what's the cost on that?

Although I know what to do, I can't proceed unless I have a car actually here. So if you can ship yours, I can make it ;-)

Thanks cambo

I was hoping you'd see this and yes the car does seem to have more power than the last time we lined up together LOL
