Best way to go is lower the car. A 25 series tire is considered your "rubber band" tire. this is tipicly what you would run on a 20" set up. I have 19" staggered wheels on my S-type. That were made 5x112. I drilled them to my bolt pattern. I'm currently running a 35 and 30 series tire and practically off road the things in the pot hole ridden down town LA. They work fine for me!!! If I were to run a 40 series to try to fill in the wheel gap the tire would be way to big. I lowered mine and love it.

In Fact I'm selling my rims, tires, and lowering kit. They are 3 months old, perfict condition. The tires have 90% on them. Your car will look like mine if you buy them. I'm selling them for $1100 and can ship all over the world. The springs I'm selling for $300.

I'm pretty picky but 19's are a good compromise. I'll post pic later today

That does look good Nipped, do you have any straight on side pics ?
I like the 18" that came on my R,,,,, just wish they made 40 and 45 tires to fit them. With the R wheels already extra wide,,,, I think allot of folks would rather just buy a little taller tire than have to buy tires and wheels.

I put II Crave No. 14. 20" on yesterday. Gotta get caliper covers and new rotors. It's a good fit.

Just a heads up on the offset if you've not ordered these already. The STR wheels are a 60mm offset, so be careful going too low or you could end up with rubbing issues.

Edit: Just noticed the thread necromancy on this one. Ignore me

255/30 ZR20 FRONT

PIRELLI ZERO NEROS

I bought the car with the wheel and tires. I get road noise and a stiff ride, but they grip really well also

Default Caravella

Staggered 19" Caravella wheels. In my opinion it looks awesome. Contemplating dropping the car an inch, although im gonna be precariously close to those tires.
For anyone thinking about these, keep in mind they do have a different offset. about 10mm further out, pushing you to the limit before there is rubbing on top of fender. This can be good if you enjoy seeing your wheels flush with the car body.

20 inches and low profiles are a must, more road noise and a harsher ride is the result. 19 inches fills in well and you maintain the jags comfortable ride.

I get very minor rubbing in the back when going over dips at freeway speeds with my 19" 285s/Forgestar F14 combo. I'm sure 275s wouldn't rub at all.

Don't go with a lip on wheels with a STR, or you will rub.

On my 19" Forgestars I'm running 275/30/19 in the rears and they've never rubbed.

I believe the CF5 has a slightly higher offset than the F14 on our cars, which would help since mine rubs on the fender when it does.

It was really hard to find them, as they are appeared to be rare.
Finally found them used on ebay and remanufactured later. Overall it costs me about $2k for the `like new` set w/o tires.

And the tires are Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 245/30/20 all around.

Standard wheels on your car should be ET60.
