Default S Type R- aftermarket wheels- 19's or 20's?

Hi guys. As you know two of my wheels are screwed and 1 tire is shot. I'm thinking of going with a set of Stern St11 wheels. they're dirt cheap and look okay. The question is, should I go with 19's or 20's? I have lowering springs on my car. I will keep the staggered setup with 245's up front and 275's out back.

Photos of cars with 19's or 20's would be greatly appreciated!!!

Personally, I think the 19's are perfect, but here are some of each.

I think 20" would look too big and the lower profile tires might hurt the ride comfort, but that's just my opinion.

I just got off the phone with a coworker running a 245/30/20 set of wheels and he hated them. He broke several wheels due to hitting pot holes. He suggested I go 19's instead.

The photo above is awesome. That car is the same color as mine too. That looks perfect. Now to decide on silver alloy colored wheels or black with polished lips. My windows are tinted like that car's.

What specs/offsets do I need to buy? Stern make an 8.5 and 9.5 in my size so I'm in luck there. I just need to get the offsets straight.

crap, they only make the st11's in 18"X8.5 in a 5x108. Bummer.

However, I just called a wheel place and they said that they would re-drill the holes to work with my setup. I guess they would get a 5X112 and move the holes 4mm some how. So, for $100 they'll do this.

That STR with the 19" looks sick! Now aftermarket wheels are on the list!

I googled it for you and found this website... Wheel Fitment.eu PCD Jaguar S-Type - the largest online database with PCD, Offset and Center Bore date for almost every car

if you find another that says the same, it must be true! You could take a digi caliper and measure it yourself...only sure way to know, right?

What/where is the shop that will do the re-drill for you?

Jag79 Hey, that looks great! I have the same year and color and now wish that I would have gone that route when I replaced my tires recently. Lowered and 20's...great look and it fills the wheel well gap nicely....any clearance issues at all? Do you have any other performance mods?

Thanks Scaaty for the compliments . I have Mafioso's Custom Air Intake, K&N drop in, Full exhaust Mod with HI Flow Cats and Magnaflows with 4" tips and lastly Arden lowering springs kit. Hopefully later this year I'll do the 3lb SC pulley upgrade with the low temp thermostat.

As for clearance issues and ride comfort, no problems at all(knock on wood) Having the Arden springs over the H & R springs gave it the perfect clearance and covers the wheel well very nicely when lowered with the 20's since H & R drops it down a little more lower.

Take it easy bro.

One of the companies I called for the wheels said that. I'm new to this stuff; I'm not sure if that is common or not. The 4.5 mm is less than .2 inches

I am about to buy these 19" Coventry Hornets:

They are made specifically for Jags

Those will work fine on an STR i actually saw on on the Manheim website that had them on it in the south. Are you going to be getting rid of your barcelonas?

Take care,

George

It says the s type is 50mm offset. Is that the same for the s type r or does it not matter?

I just need to figure this out and then I have to figure out what is the best fit.

Alright, so I looked into this a little more. I found on one website the specs for the S type R:

2004 Jaguar
S-Type R

Bolt Pattern: 5x108
Center Bore: 63.9
Hardware:12x1.50 Lug
Offset:
Front: 34-42mm
Rear: 40mm

However somewhere else I saw that the offset listed at 60mm. And on the coventry website, I saw this:
front 42mm
rear 42

Should I go off the coventry website since they market wheels specifically for our jags?

Also, update... I found my wheels in a 19" 108 pattern, but only in the front size:

Stern ST11 Hyperblack Wheels 19x8.5 Boltpattern 5x4.25 (5x108) Offset 38 Hub Bore 73 Partnumber ST1185950838HB

they do have the 5X114.3 in 19x9.5" with 48 offset, but I'll have to have the wheel bolt pattern modified to 108 from 114.3. They make a 5X112, but it only has 25 offset.

So that's where I'm at currently. This is kind of a pain to figure out but it should be worth it in the end.

I forged makes rims to order that fit the 5x108 bolt pattern of the Jaguar. They're cheaper than HRE's and exceptionally good quality
