My father in law just called me, we live in Louisville Kentucky. He drove up to Cincy, Ohio and bought an S-type.It is a 2000 model with the 3.0 six cylinder. He stopped at the fuel station and filled up the tank with 87 Octane regular unleaded. The car is now running rough,loses power when under a load, and seems as if it is missing the way he described the complaint to me.He added Octane boost, and had the light reset at a local parts house. now the light is back on and the engine is still missing and weak. Any suggestions?
I have advised him to stay in Cincy tonight and get it to the dealer tomorrow. However his work schedule will not allow for this. Could this just be a fuel related issue? He said the car ran fine all day until he put the low octane fuel in it,and he drove it from a full tank down to less than 1/4 before he fueled it. Thank you for any advice
