Default 05 S type sunroof drainage routing

I need to know the exact routing for the drain hoses for a sunroof. The complete roof was replaced on a vehicle that had no sunroof before. Sunroof works beautifully. The rear drains appear to go down the pillars to the lower quarters. The fronts are a bit puzzling. We have seen them exit thru a hole drilled in the front hinge pillar just below the top hinge and others that just disappear into the pillar. Anyone have an answer?

With an aftermarket moonroof it's hard to say where they were routed???

The factory front drain hoses go down the "A" pillar and drain in front of the door hinge and directly behind the front tire. You should be able to pour a bit of water on the roof and check where it drains out.

I actually had the complete roof removed and welded the roof with the sunroof in, I was needing the routing for the front drains.
Do they run inside the A Pillar or are they run outside of them? It looks to be a pain to fish them thru the pillars.
thanks

There was a thread quite a while ago from someone with clogged drains.
As I recall they do run down the pillars and are a royal PITA.

VERY difficult. Try to fish a wire thru it first. You will have a bigger problem because whoever welded the roof had to weld the A-Pillars and I bet he did not leave a nice clean tunnel in them!!!

Default S Type Sunroof Drain Routing

When we changed the original roof with the sunroof roof the roof was all done at the factory seams, we didn't cut any pillars, so basically we have a factory installation that went surprisingly smooth. All the roof rails are the same, so we only added the roof with the sunroof bracing which was already installed in the used roof. The cars wiring was even set up for the sunroof! I literally attached the plug that was wrapped up on the original harness and opened the sunroof, I didn't even have to add a fuse!
I checked the a pillar and tried a fish but it hit an obsruction after about 8" (Foam maybe?) I am considering running outside of the pillar behind the A pillar trim. Once behind the dash I'm hoping there is access to the outside of the hinge pillar. One member wrote the the exit is behind the fender liners, I don't know if I'm going have to drill a hole or if it is already there. I would think the hole is there, why build two different pillars just for a drain hole?
