Default 2 quick questions

Hi all,

I am in the market for an S-Type and been doing my homework and have a couple of questions.

I have read bout the timimg chain and tensioner issues on the V8s and would like to know if they exist on the 6 cylinders. From what I have read, it's only the 8 cylinder cars, is the right? I prefer a 6 cylinder.

Also I have been looking for a manual transmission car and have found one and would like to know if there are any problems this type of tranny, clutch.

Thanks,

Bill

The V8s basically need the newer tensioner at some point (sooner the better). The 4.0 is most (or only?) affected.
I'm not aware of any problems with chains on any (3.0 or 4.x) - just change when due.

The manual (2.5 or 3.0; over here there's also a 2.7D) has been described as a very heavy clutch.
