20" rims?
Lets not forget that you're talking about a Jag! We're not a Lincoln, where it's like riding in magic cloud! The LS's suspension is AWESOME and the ride quality is excellent, then again not sporty like the Jag's! 99% of cars will rub in a big bump, even with 16" rims! The thing is, how many passengers can the car take?

I have an LS with sport package. It doesn't have an air suspension and doesn't ride likea magic cloud. I have driven number of LSs, sport, non sport and also I have driven S-types, regular and few S-type Rs. The rides are similar. The LS and S-type wheels are interchangable. Both cars share exact same suspension and brakes. I just put S-type R wheels on my LS and they fit great, 245/40/18s in the front and 275/35/18s in the rear. No rubbing. I had 20"x8.5" wheels before with 245/35/20 tires. They rubbed only when people in the back, but I trimmed the rear fender liner a bit and had no rubbing at all.
Your car easily fit 20x8.5 on a Jag without any problems. The ride isharder then the stock 17" wheels but not very bad.
Here are some pictures of my LS when it was with 20" wheels, and now it is with 18" S-type R wheels.

Would 22x9J (not sure what the j stands for) with a 45 offset fit? Someone on craigslist is selling them, they originally were on an aviator...Also I can't seem to find a good deal on 235 30 22s, but I can find some for 245 30 22. Is that too much rubber? Thanks
Well I missed out on those 22...
I've been speaking to some rim places. To my understanding, we are on FWD rims, we use the same hubs as a taurus. On ebay you can get a set of chrome centered, polished lipped 20x9s for $598 shipped...What's the widest tire you can get put on 9" wide rims, which prevents rubbing while calulating the aspect ratio to match the stock overall diameter? Lol, did that make any sense?

I know ALL s types are RWD...However there are exception to RWD having FWD rims, the older thunderbirds are an example. It appears the jag has FWD rims...Even if I'm wrong, 30+ offset is VERY high for any RWD, usually they're 20 or less, several are zero or negative. I have no idea about the width, getting mixed opinions...I don't want to buy anything until I know they fit....
