Default 2000 s-type 3.0 knocking from exhaust?

I have a 2000 s-type 3.0 it has recently started knocking from what seems to be the passenger side exhaust? I have read about chain tensioners going bad and causing a knock sound and it does go away when you give it gas. But I felt around on the head with a screwdriver to see if I could feel the knock up there and didn't feel anything. It literally feels like it's inside the exhaust under the car between the two 02 sensors. .any ideas? Thanks!

The tensioner issues were with the 4.0 V8 not the V6 - check gas quality - could be the cause of your engine pinging. Also could be an intermittent misfiring coil. Just my $0.02

Good job! Not wonderfully cheap but cheaper than an engine.
