Default 2000 S-type rebuild

Does anyone have a detailed step-by-step description of a complete head gasket replacement on a 4.0L?

Download jtis from the stickies on this forum, it's the jaguar workshop manual, step by step instructions with diagrams on how to do just about everything

Very good advice! Also get the JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog) This has a lot of nice exploded diagrams which are not in the JTIS.

We are lucky that both of these are free from the forum. You really can't do any work without them both.

Default Good Stuff

Hey thanks for the info. I found the download and got it! I was able to do a couple laps around jtis and very excited to have it. I'm certain that during the head gasket job I'm gonna have to ask questions but am truly thankful to have this forum where members are so helpful.

Be sure to take pics as you strip it down to help you reassemble.
You could later on post them here!

That's a very good point!!

I have found the JTIS instructions to be pretty bare bones so anything you can add will help the next guy doing this repair.

I uploaded the Jaguar Engine Course 168 that has the V8 and V6 specs.

It has more info than you will need.
