2000 S-Type V8 Intermittent Crank No-Start
Four years, three mechanics, and a new engine, fuel pump, crank sensor, and various relays and wiring harness bits later, this problem persists: every few days, weeks, or months, it will crank without starting. Leave it for a time (10 minutes, 2 hours, overnight) and it starts up fine. It typically stores no codes, but once stored a P1233 "Fuel system disabled/offline".
The keys have been reprogrammed. The security light on the dash does not flash. A scan tool shows strong fuel pressure (42 psi) during the no-start.
I'm throwing in the towel and selling an otherwise beautiful car, but thought I'd post here on the off-chance someone else had this problem and found a fix or work-around.

Some ideas:
Check the connectors to each of the cam sensors on the back of each cylinder head. Make sure they are tight and snug. Might be worth checking voltage at the harness and at each of the cam sensors as well. Also, make sure the wires are not chaffed.
Check voltage to the fuel pressure regulator near the fuel rail. (should be 4.5 volts when ignition turned to run)
Check the inertia switch - sometimes, these switches can work intermittently (electrically)
That's my $0.02 cents here....

Im guessing you've already changed the fuel filter/fuel pressure sensor as part of your parts swapping marathon?
Also have you verified the coils are sparking when it wont start (using a timing gun or similar)? Id put money on it being ECU related.
