Default 2001 S Type 4.0 rough idle

Hello,

I have a 2001 S type 4.0. It has started running rough at start up and idle. I took it on Labor Day to Sears (only place open) and they replaced the plugs and wires. They said a couple codes came up indicating an exhaust leak. They could not find it and to take it to a muffler place here in town...any idea how much this is going to cost. Will welding fix the leak or have you found that I need to replace the entire system...help!

Looks so rare that - if they're right! - no-one may post.

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, Sears is not equipped to properly service this car. The fact they even sourced replacement coils is highly suspect to me.

They probably put crappy plugs in too.

Probably made things worse. Please proceed to a mechanic that specializes in Jaguar.

Plugs did need to be changed...they were pretty bad....but when they checked the codes they indicated an exhaust leak...don't ask me what the codes were...but the light is still on...I am taking it to a reliable mechanic tomorrow...
