Glad you got the battery light off but I did not see if you were using a Jaguar alternator or something else?

We have had a number of different people find out that ONLY a Jaguar alternator will work.

Thanks for the info. I put a brand new battery in it and checked the voltage from the alternator and everything is good. It has the original alternator, what ever the factory in.

I have been driving the s-type for about two weeks daily now. The lights have been going off but come back in short order. I also developed a nasty groaning and grinding noise from the front left. What are some of the things I should look for after removing the wheel? As always thanks for the help.

Failed hub assembly... Remove the rotor and spin the hub - it should feel smooth - any grittiness, resistance, wobble or noise / time for replacement. Also, pull out the speed sensor behind the hub - any wetness, grease or metal fragments on the speed sensor is bad news - again, prompting replacement of the hub... Just my $0.02

I would like to give a little more information. The noise occurs at a very slow speed[under 5mph] when the brakes are applied. There is no noise when turning or at highway speed.

I would check the hub assemblys as in my previous post - you also can check the rotor (warping) or even the rotor backing plate.

I recently did my brakes and rotors and I found the bottom part of the rotor shield plate was extremely close to the rotor and was making contact after things "warmed" up...

Hope this points you in the right direction - Anthony

Pulled both front wheel today. I checked brakes, hub assemblies and cleaned the wheel sensors. I'm thinking the groaning noise is just disc brake noise at low speed so I cleaned the pads. I put everything back together and it is better. The lights continue to go on & off. I also lost my security beep on the remote and sometimes the seat belt light doesn't come on.??????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????

Starting to sound like multiple issues, which is typically a failing battery (not so likely your case) or a chafed harness.
