First step is to get the codes read- that will probably reveal all sorts of helpful info.

Catherine, I moved your post for better exposer since you had originally posted in the V8 Supercharged Thread.

2nd, please go to the "New Member Section" and post a proper intro for everyone. This will aid you in becoming a full fledged member with access to more information on this site.

3rd, follow Mikeys advise and get the codes read and post them here.

4th, what part of SC are you located in.

5th, welcome to the forum!

Could it be a thermostat stuck open? 30mins is a long time, though.

I think the 2 infamous shifter bolts on the side of the trans ought to be checked to eliminate that as an issue.

Has any work been done within the last few months before problems started?

Welcome aboard, Catherine.
by "get the codes read" the guys mean you can swing by your local auto parts retailer and most will be happy to hook up to the OBDII port above the driver's knee and read the powertrain diagnostics. Then they'll tell you what is wrong, which may or may not be correct. Important point for you is to get them to print out the actual code numbers (or write them down from the screen) and come back here to post them. It will be an alpha-numeric code starting with "P" - P0171 for example.

This information will open the floodgates of forum help to you...

I had the same problem last week, it ended up being the upper and lower intake gaskets, Total job ran about $600

shoooz thank you for posting your fix.

You should really go to the "New Member Section" and post up an introduction as per forum etiquette.
