Default 2003 S type oil pan leak

Hi All:

I have a 2003 S-type with the 3.0 liter engine. It has 35,000 miles. Over the winter (garage stored) it developed an oil pan gasket leak. It looks to be leaking in not just one but several place and probably lost a quart of oil over a 3 month period.

That having been said I looked at what it would take to replace the gasket and it looks like I have to drop the A-frame and rack in pinon steering assembly to get the pan cover out.

Also the pan has a sticker on it that states "Do Not Remove" but I can't tell if they mean the sticker or pan. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?

Thanks,

J

It was in the FAQ's, who would look there?

Majog, if you read the whole thread Norri pointed out, you don't have to use a cherry picker as Brutal stated. Place a jack at the bellhousing to raise motor up enough to gain access.

The "Do Not Remove" is attached to the oil pan and does not get removed during the whole procedure.

Good luck as I said in the FAQ thread, its not that bad of a job.
