Welcome to the forums Warrende,
I've moved your question from Interior to S-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.
I can't find that Part Number in the catalogue. It will help if you describe the part you need.

The following site, located in Germany, shows the part and it loads into a shopping cart; but, they have a minimum 250 Euro order requirement.
Search by original / genuine spare part number (carparts-pros.com)
Have you checked with a Jaguar dealer? I realize that the part appears to be discontinued, but dealers have the ability to poll the dealer network to see if a parts department has the item in inventory as NOS.

I believe you can't find the part # XR 842604 is because Jaguar has discontinued its manufacture. I have seen a used one, my mechanic called it a window channel. It looks like a weatherstrip; it's a circular belt of relatively thin rubber, grooved I believe for the window to ride on and had to be lubed once,(which fixed the issue), about a year before it collapsed completely. Thank you so much for your attempt to help. The car isn't even saleable in its present condition. The window will no longer work and has had to be kept closed Again, Great Thanks, Warren
If the place in Germany is the only place I can get it, I would be willing (quite unhappy though), to pay the 250 Euros as the vehicle is, as said not even saleable, though it is my wife's car and I don't want to sell it. Warren
Where are you located? It's not stated in your profile. Your approximate location will help determine if certain options are cost-effective.
You've mentioned searching for XR842604 (leave out the space for best results) but have you tried XR826509? According to several web hits for the first number, this second number is the old superseded version of the same part. Often the changes are very minor, and the superseded part will still work just fine. I've had very good luck finding discontinued parts on eBay, although I'm not seeing anything at the moment. Keep looking, though, as dealers and wholesalers are cleaning out old inventory all the time.
Another option is to get an entire door assembly from a wrecking yard. I had a big decorative landscaping boulder jump out and mangle one of my doors several years ago. I found a complete door on eBay for only $125. Shipping was more than the door, unfortunately. I had several choices locally in different colors, but only found the same color halfway across the country. If you only need to rob one part from it, you may be able to pick up something locally if the color doesn't matter. If you find a local source, they may work with you and sell you just the pieces you need.
Another good source for used parts, a user-friendly database of wrecking yards:

Karl, I am located in Houston, Texas, USA and have purchased a used one already from Ebay. It was not in good enough shape for my mechanic to install, (per him), and he said it has to be new or like new for him to do all the labor necessary. XR826509, per Jaguar, was superseded by my part, XR842604, now discontinued. I also asked the guy at Jaguar parts if one could be on a shelf at any other dealership and he said that would come up automatically when searched for, thus not available. However, if you could get me the place in Germany and how to contact them, I'll be able to afford the part, though not happily. Thank you soo much for your help, t'was truly appreciated. Warrende
