The dealer can tell you if your car is wired for Jaguar Voice. Not all of them are.

Does that Jaguar Voice have its own speaker, go through the car radio to the car speakers, or bypass the car radio and go directly to the car speakers ?

the nav voice comes through the audio system...if the music is loud it will fade away and the nav voice will take over. then music will come back on. My nav voice mysteriously went out one day. I played will all kind of settings at a truck stop interupting my trip, couldnt figure it out then it magically started working agin. maybe pop out the disc and put it back in, not sure what fixed mine....

That sounds like a GPS system built into the that particular car radio.
Are you saying that a special CD or DVD is required to make this GPS work ?
Meaning you could not play an audio CD while using GPS ?

Aeneas i dont think thats correct, it comes off of the navigation dvd, its designed that way from the factory...you can still use both the in dash CD player and the CD changer for audio music while using the GPS voice

Sounds like an enormous amount of real estate in that dash consumed by cd-playing equipment, in that year.
I assume the cd changer is in the glove box, like 2000.

the changer is trunk compartment mounted along with navigation dvd drive, single disk in dash is right under the screen

Sounds like the brilliant Jaguar interior space engineers must have moved the battery out of the trunk onto the roof, to make space for this changer for 2004.

From the 2003 schematic, it looks like the GPS signal passes from the GPS antenna, to the Cellular Phone module, to the Audio unit (I assume this is the car radio)to the power amplifier to the speakers.
