Default 2005 Jaguar S Type V6 Throttle Body

I would like to ask if anyone has ever cleaned the throttle body on a 2005 V6 S Type Jaguar, and if so what the proceedures are. My Jag only has 30,000 miles on it, but after driving it on hot days for any length of time it goes into limp home mode, as soon as it cools down it's fine with no problem. So anyway I thought I might try cleaning the throttle body to see if the problem goes away. Any suggestions or remidies or instructions?

Welcome to the forum Tombow,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to S-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

It's not likely to be the problem but clean it gently if you do as it's got a thin coating.

Have you done the IMT valves? See stickies...

It's an old thread, but here is a write-up of what's involved in cleaning out the throttle body. At best it's a one beer job, or in my case a full-bodied ale.

Why do think that's problem? Just doing random things will not fix your car.

As was posted above get the codes. That is the only way forward and the ONLY way we can help.
