2005 S type 4.2 V8 need some help
Into shop today (not JLR) for new batt, check throttle body, TPS, APP for creation of limp home. One guy said even a loose light bulb could create the limp. He may have been kidding but I'm not getting red light at the battery/alternator check light at the base of the tach during the illumination of pre-start check lights and wonder if this lamp could be the culprit.
Can anyone confirm that they do get the check light? Or is it possible that it is not included in the check light process, but is intended to light up for low batt or alternator?

No, I don't get the light. Handbook says 'not all lights display in the light check'. With key ON and engine not running, have you seen the light ON in a 2006 S-type 4.2L V8? I'm being picky here because JLR info is not clear, and I'm looking for solid evidence either to say test 'light does not come ON' or light does come on in (your) car under test conditions.
I've never had the light come with engine running.
