I have an S-type that is set to X400 and am looking into getting it reset to the correct Xnumber for the car, however when I talk to the dealer about this they don't seem to know what I am talking about. I am sure I am just posing the question incorrectly and am not calling out the right system or something along those lines. So if I could get a little help with this, when I talk to the dealer which system should I tell them that I am wanting to change or what module setting I am wanting to adjust? Any assist on this is greatly appreciated.

X200 = Jaguar S Type
X400 = Jaguar X Type

Yeah the info displayed on the center console screen, it displays "X400 on screen diagnostics" I know that the X400 is the X-type and the X202 is the S-type and the X350 is the XJ, I also know that this setting can be changed and I am wanting to have that done. I just have been having an issue posing this question to the dealer and/or independant shops.

 

Did you swap some parts or use a pirate DVD disc? This is not a normal problem.

Neither, this is just the way it was set when the car was purchased. Not the origonal owner i might say as well, only have had the car about a month.

 

Could someone previous have installed the satnav etc (apparently from an X-Type)? (There's a how-to about it on here.)
