Default 2006 s type sport 3.0 air bag light

Good evening everyone. Sat evening my air bag light blinked about 4-5 times...then stayed on....then it was fine all day Sunday...then today after I drove the car for 3 hours....it did the same thing...
I do have the easycare total care warranty thank god...but I was wondering if there is an easy fix for this so I do not have to pay the $200 deduct!
Thanx

Your airbag light is telling you when it has discovered an intermittant fault in the system. If it has found a fault the light comes on, and on the next start the light comes on for a bulb test, then flashes a 2 digit code. For instance a driver airbag fault would be 1 flash, a short break, then 9 more flashes. That would be code 19. The code is flashed three times, then the light stays on. There are many circuits that could be the culprit, the most likely fault is the driver side. Usually the column cancellation module behind the steering wheel. [sometimes called a spiral cassette]
The airbag system is not something that I'd recommend for a home repair. Airbags are explosives, and therefore dangerous.
I'd recommend using your Easy Care and coughing up the deductible. Guesswork based on flash codes alone could end up quite expensive.

Good luck!

Worth a quick check of the air bag connections under your drivers seat. It will be the yellow wire and connector. It is not unknown for them to work loose over the years particularly if you have the automatic seat positioning.
