I’ve got a 2008 S-Type 3.0 V6 with the code p0411. This code is so vague that after some troubleshooting, I believe it’s my secondary air pump check valve. Can someone explain to me what has to be done to fully diagnose this issue? The pump runs and I can hear it, I’ve checked all connections and hoses, I haven’t touched the valve as the instructions I have to remove/ replace it are extremely vague. Can anyone please help? I’m due for smog pretty soon. Aside from a CEL, there has been a development of a slight misfire. Not storing enough to trigger a code, but enough to feel a hiccup in the engine. Not sure where to go from here, I’ve ordered the secondary air pump valve from the dealer, just don’t wanna have to spend money to have it installed when I’m sure I’m capable. The instructions say make sure to check timing marks on step 10, but why does this have timing marks in the first place? Im confused, how do I time this if I were to remove it and replace it myself?
