Default 3.0 Not Properly Accelerating

I am running with a problem on my 3.0 s-type. The car was parked for like around 3 months as i was out of the country but when i came back the car was running like with no power.

the car's acceleration, even maxxed out at the gas going on first gear is really really slow, it has no torque whatsoever. Once in the highway it runs fine but going from a dead stop the car is just not what it used to be at all. It would take 10 seconds to go up to 20 mph.

So my question is: Do i need a tune-up ? or is there something else to it ?

Have you filled up with fresh gas and maybe ran some injector cleaner through the car yet? Checked the air filter? Possible from sitting, the gas went bad or a clogged intake. No check engine light?

yea i added new gas, and ran an injector cleaner I also checked the air filter which looks like new.

Check engine light blinks when the car is running like crap, however i haven't been able to drive it to autozone yet as it's not registered.

First thing first:

What year?

Secondly, you drive it but its not registered? get the codes read, or we'll be throwing darts in the dark!

We'll be here!

You mentioned the air filter, are you sure that the top was placed on correctly? Their are many that had thought the air filter cover was set in place but in reality it wasn't, just FYI.

Flashing MIL = catalyst-damaging misfires

PCM will reduce power trying to save your cats.

Chances are you have an air leak or bad coils.

Many posts about these, get busy with Search on here

The common faults with your era (8+ years old) and engine are easily the most likely and fixes are quite easy DIY.
