30K service?
Just hit the 30K mark on the odo, so I'm taking the car in for service. What do they usually do at the 30K mark and how much will it cost. I'm affraid to ask, but I rather know ahead of time so my I don't tighten up my but cheeks when I hear 'well thats ______ for the service'. I mean I can change the oil, tranny, coolant fluids and cabin filters myself?
There really isn't much to do. The dealer will tell you not to worry about the plugs. I would do them anyway. Remember to get new gaskets for the coils as well. I would also change the air, fuel and cabin filters.
All the manufacturers say longer plug life and longer periods between oil changes. I just can't bring myself to let either sit there that long. Maybe it really isn't needed, but it makes me feel better so I just do it anyway.
you should get an oil change, wiper blades, cabin air filter, tires inspected and air pressure checked, exterior lighting bulbs checked, and a wash too.
the spark plugs in most cars are designed to go 100,000 miles. jaguar doesn't give the technician much opportunity to make hours from services.
