Default Advice needed please from a newbie

Hi There....
Finally getting round to buying a fresh Jag.... getting rid or the merc to do so.
I have been and test drove a lovely 2.5l S Type and i loved it the only issue is the brakes seemed none existent, I had to put my foot right to the floor to slow the car down and through the floor to stop it.... no chance of doing an emergency stop that's for sure.....
Can anyone advise me what the problem may be...Thank you

Brakes on an S-type are similar or identical to any other type of car, nothing peculiar to jaguar for the most part.

Any garage could most likely sort it out quite easily.

Yes am aware the garage may fix it.... i was more wondering if its a major problem, or a simple one. Or if anyone had come across this problem before.

I'd say that the only answer you will get without more info is that yes it could be serious or else it could be something simple! Sorry.

Yes of course- millions of people have had some type of brake problem on their cars over the decades. 'Pedal goes to the floor' can occur on any type of car and be caused by dozens of things ranging in cost from a few cents to thousands of dollars to rectify.

Not to be rude but you've asked 'how long is the piece of string behind my back' and honestly expect us to know.

I'll be bold enough to assume that you're not familiar with car mechanics nor do your own work. In this case, you'll need the service of a garage to at least diagnose and fix the issue, may as well let them look at it now.

Yep in fairness Mikey yes I drive em but leave it to the garage to fix em.
Was just testing the water to see if it was a regular thing for the big cat..... but guaging on the response its not.
So I'll make em an offer and we'll see how it goes.... worse case scenario, the cat goes to the vet for some tlc and I get the cheque book out...lol
