Air Conditioning blowing hot and cold
#41
Well guys, looks like i am having the same issue. My AC is blowing cold air in the center vents and hot air from the outer (left and right) vents. I have drained and recharged the AC system and checked for leaks. I have spend $500 so far and still the same problem. I am going to see if the solution for JackBurns will work for me. I called local Jag dealer and the Sensor-Evaporator is only $21. I will buy and replace it to see if it will help. Car has only 40k miles on it and is a 2003.

well, i took out the evaporator sensors out and measured the resistance. two of them read 25.65-25.85 and one read 23.40. I assumed the 23.40 was the one not working properly. I purchased on from Jag ($22) and took a measurement and it read 26.10. I installed all 3 sensor back (including the new one) but the same problem exists. Center vents are blowing cold but the side vents and rear vents (from back of center console) are all blowing hot air. i am gona hunt down a used CCM and see if swapping it will solve the problem.

dual control problem
drivers side blows cool and is adjustable in temp. Passengers blows constant HOT, reguardless of what I do. Is this the dccv or the duct temp sensors. I'm leaning toward the dccv cause it seems to get slight slightly cooler (still Hot) when I crank up the ac in manual, kind of like the heat is stuck on but the ac is fighting to cool the heat.

that sounds like a wonderful test and temporary fix untill the parts come in from rock auto and I get a chance to replace it and check the module trace that bob smith said brutal said to check. Has anyone tried installing a circuit protection, fuse, inline with the dccv solnoids to protect the climate control module form a shorted solnoid. This is something I need to ask an electrical engineer.

These guys do offer protection for repaired units - JaguarClimateControl.com
I'm sure there will be others.

My Air was blowing hot and cold. I found a fix for this issue. After replacing the DCCV(which was a pain and took about 2hrs with my wife's help), my a/c still was blowing hot/cold. After reading a ton of threads I felt that it was the CCM(Climate Control Module). I removed the module and opened it up(all took about 20mins). I found the burnt trace. I don't know anything about soldering and couldn't find a electronic shop to fix this for me. After looking on youtube I found a video showing a pen that will repair a broken/burnt trace. I purchased it from Radio Shake for $20, its called a Conductive Writer. I followed the directions let it dry for about 45min and prayed it would fix the CCM. I put the CCM back together and hooked it up in the car, powered it up and.... Arctic Air in all vents once again!! I then reassembled everything(car still running), I had to turn the air down before I re-installed the center console liner. I am one happy Jag owner again, come on hot Alabama summer days, we can do battle again.

My 05 4.2 with nav has had the "HOT" air problem. I replaced the DCCV, still hot air.
Removed the RCCM & inspected it, no blown traces anywhere/
I noticed that with the AC on, the compressor is NOT on. The refrigerant levels are good but no compressor activation.
Should I be looking for faulty evap sensors?
Does a failed sensor cause the compressor to cut off?
Thanks

If you have no power, you will need to trace the circuit backwards to determine the cause.

A/C repair help please!
2005 S Type 6 cyl 3.0. A/C went out. Tech said code B1265 (Motor Circuit Failure). He wants to take the dashboard off and said it was very labor intensive and I'm looking at $400 to $600. Is there anything we can take a look it prior to ripping the dashboard off and making a hole in my wallet? It's going to start warming up here where I live... Thx!

I have been reading the thread to try to figure out what could be wrong with my S Type Air-Conditioning. I have tried re-charging the system twice now and it seems to work ok for a few weeks (although as I live in Scotland it is deceptive as the ambient outside temperature is so low!), but then the temperature coming out of all of the vents at "Lo" setting is warm and I guess not much below the outside air temperature.
I have also noticed that the external temperature reading takes a long time to change and is often showing the incorrect external air temperature.
The whole air-con issue seems to be very complicated with a lot of potential component failures that could be causing my problem.........can anyone suggest what is the likeliest cause of the problem or give me some pointers on where to start to diagnose what could be wrong?
Thanks
