Default Air Flow/Pressure issue

I have a 2006, V6 Jaguar S-Type (if that isn't enough information on the car model, please let me know) with the CEL on, which is throwing the following codes:
P0491 - Stored Error(Mode 3)
Secondary Air Injection System: Bank 1: Insufficient Flow
P0492 - Stored Error(Mode 3)
Secondary Air Injection System: Bank 2: Insufficient Flow
P2432 - Stored Error(Mode 3)
Sec. Air Inj. Sys. Air Flow/Pressure Sens Bank 1 Circuit: Low
P2431 - Stored Error(Mode 3)
Sec. Air Inj. Sys. Air Flow/Pressure Sens Bank 1 Circuit: Range/Performance
Does anyone have any idea as to what conditions might be cause these codes? Other than the CEL being on, the car doesn't seem to have any problems and runs and drives fine.

thanks, pxhayes

They're all pointing towards one problem area so surely you've checked it out?

Funny enough, alldatadiy doesn't have one of those Jag specific codes available, HHHmm

I’m sorry. I had added that information to the “vehicle info” field in my profile which I thought would also add it to my signature — but it didn’t. It is now fixed.

From what I’ve been reading here, they’re rare error codes. Given their rareness I thought I should maybe ask the hive mind for its collective wisdom in addition to mining the boards for data.

Thanks for the information!

The Secondary Air Injection System? I’m trying to figure out how to check that. However, when I started poking around in the archives here, the seemingly more relevant advice suggested reflashing the car’s firmware to a newer software version….

My apologies, I’m a noob at this. I’m starting my gearhead phase about three decades later than all the other guys in my father’s family.

If there were a problem with the vane pump for the secondary air injection system, would I be getting a separate error code for it from the computer?

The reflash might fix it and should be cheap. If it doesn't I guess you'll be hunting around and the not-so-obvious place with the tech data is jag's TOPIX. Your era car isn't in JTIS, though most of it would apply. SAI was added after JTIS ceased.

Rick, not to step on your toes since the V6 is your domain, can leaking IMRC gaskets cause the restricted airflow?

Thank you: I was grepping search terms across JTIS's service manual files this afternoon without much luck. I suppose that I'll have to check out this TOPIx thing….

Actually Seth, I did post up the IMT O ring check, but then I decided to search on that code first. So I back spaced out and posted what the searches found.

But here is a simple check that may help out:

It does sound like this might just be the culprit. Worth a shot.

Sorry for disappearing. I made a trip to Chicago for a seminar on autism and to visit some friends. This also means that I haven't had time to look under the car yet. However, I did drive it a lot, often with my laptop hooked up to the OBD-II. I didn't learn much from that, but I don't know what to look for either.

Basically, what I did learn is that the car gets about 24 mpg at 75 mph.
