Default Airbag lifht

My airbag light has been comIng on lately with no set pattern. It just flashes a few times and then comes on solid. I think I got a count of 9 flashes...?

I believe they're all two-digit....

Maybe get just the SRS codes read (dealer tool) or if you'd rather spend time then hunt up old threads and figure out the few common-ish issues and check them all. Driver seat movement causes one.

Ok, so I did the search and found that the plug might be loose under the seat. However, there isn't a thread that tells the location of the plug. After checking under the seat and pulling the seatbelt side lower panel off the seat I have come up empty. Can anyone give me an idea of where to look for the airbag plug? I know what they look like from years of doing stereo installs but just can't find this one in the middle of all the motor wires....

Hopefully someone who KNOWS (please!) will say but I'd hope it's got a coloured connector to signify SRS-related. It sure is tight under there. I expect you're used to using a light and mirrors.....

if its anything like our xk8s (and i'm not saying it is) my air bag wiring goes through a seat module physically secured underneath the seat, then passes to other connectors, then heads into the seat itself or the belt latch. Insdie the seat back there is often another connector before heading to the side bag. our models suffer from expansion over time in the pins, and i've found that gettign to the connectors and exercising them, cleaning, and even tightening the pin-to-pin connections has resolved the lights.

Our cars also suffer from drinks spilling into the seat belt latches, and this often results in a air bag light error. Cleaning the inside of the latch with electronics cleaner often helps this, otehrs have had to repalce the latch to clear the lights.

Count the flashes...it'll come in two counts, like one blink, then seven, then repeats. Thats a 17 code, and we have a airbag code list on our FAQ thread for the xk8-xkrs. Check that list out for a more localized area to diagnose. best of luck!
