Anyone have an idea about what this amp connector in the boot is for?
I was fiddling about diagnosing something with my satnav unit, and found this unconnected amp connector stowed away in the boot behind the housing for the dvd player/cd changer.
My s-type has the standard sound system, wondering if this is something related to the upgraded alpine system?
I have seen posts before indicating that the wiring might be there for this sort of thing even if it is not installed.
Or perhaps for another module that I do not have?

Reason: More clarity
Your mystery plug has 32 contacts, so search for "32-way". Only 3 plugs are listed as having 32 contacts.
FC8 and FC9 are at the instrument panel, so it is neither of those.
Connector CA261 is located in the trunk, left side, so that would be the correct area. See figures 16.1 or 16.2. The connector is for the optional cellular phone control module. Even if not installed, the harness likely has provisions for it. The only difference is the wiring diagram says it's black, not grey. That's a minor difference so I wouldn't be surprised if the plug color changed but the wiring diagram was not updated to match.
