Default Another Nav-radio-CD player thread

Sorry, searched and searched and didn't find these particular problems. I'm sure someone else has had them.

'04 S-Type R, USA, Satnav equipped, 2012 nav disc used for a few years now without issue. Fresh battery. Climate/nav/menu etc. touchscreens-fine. All TS (touchscreen) unit hard buttons function. PROBLEM 1: dash CD player unit (below TS nav unit) hard buttons (Mode, CDC, eject, etc): none work except volume knob. Knob raises/lowers volume, but acts like it has a dirty pot and the volume goes up when you turn it down sometimes, and vice versa. I HAVE: pulled unit, checked connections. Swapped out the CD player deck for another one (used/eBay). Made no difference, exact same symptoms. I HAVE NOT: tried to reinstall any firmware.

PROBLEM 2: TS unit soft buttons all seem to work fine in other modes except radio station buttons. They do not change the station, and often sub station text for freq when pressed. These two problems make all audio useless.

Before realizing these problems, I had the constant MUTE ON problem, and changed the clock spring with a new OEM one after reading these forums. That problem went away, revealing these. Anyone solved these before? Thanks in advance.
