Default Another trip to the Burgh anyone?

Note: Jim and Mods this is kind of a cross post from the Northeast meets sub-forum. Letting my fellow S-Typers know since this was discussed with some of them before the last Pittsburgh area show and they may not frequent the regional meet up sub forum.

September 25th - British Car Day at Hartwood Acres in Pittsburgh.

Event sponsored by the Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh. British cars and motorcycles. I'll be there, Bodyman (Jim) will be there, and probably phd12volt (Jason).

Any other S-typers wanna make the jaunt?

more details: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...pt-25-a-59787/

Anybody has questions or needs help with this, feel free to contact me.

Thanks for the info about the event, it looks like fun.

Are daily 'drivers' encouraged to show, or is it only 'high-line' show-cars on the field?

thanks-
mag

You see everything. If it's British and you have 25 bucks, they will let you in. 20 if you preregister. Just wash it up and enjoy the day.

I've been to this show many times. It's a really laid back sort of day. Not as much "public" spectator crowd as the one our Triumph club does at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. Also a little smaller in the car numbers. But sounds like there may be a record for S Types this year. Most people pack a cooler and tailgate. We will be taking our little camp size gas grille for some hot dogs. Usually the Steelers are playing and radios will be tuned in. Someone even had a portable TV that drew a little crowd. A very enjoyable day when the weather is nice. But I've been there in the rain and still had a good time... just soggy.

Thanks for posting this Chris. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Go Steelers!!

Hey Rick, forgot you spent time in Cleveland before landing in SC.
You have my deepest sympathy.

Jim, I agree! I have family in right as I type from the butt-hole of the earth (Cleveland)! I just had to give you Steeler guys some poop!

We were out on the lake today talking how Pittsburgh reinvented itself and how nice a city it has become. Maybe after the crooked politicians get tossed into the klink, Cleveland may have a fighting chance.

It's all in fun. I'm certainly no huge sports fan....at least the ball & stick stuff. Always been into things with engines...a gear head we used to say. But I must admit it is kinda hard not to at least get into football season when you live here.

Laurie's sister and family came to visit last Christmas from Miami. They wanted to spend time in the city but chickened out on a Steeler game. Something about coming from Miami and it was going down to 5 freakin degrees game night. They kept going on about everyone wearing the Steeler stuff. We just take that as normal behavior around here.

Oh Rick, I do feel sorry for you and your Cleveland breathren - it used to be such a fun rivalry...but you can't really have a rivalry when the other team pretty much never wins.

You are a good chap though, so if you want to tell folks you are from Pittsburgh instead, well by all means.

Jim I found out I have to run race support for my wife and her friends doing the Great Race 10k in the morning - drop off and bring them home type stuff. So I'll probably be racing over to the BCD show to get in the gate by the 12:30 cut off.

I might order a shirt when I register, although it would be nice if they showed you what it looks like!
