Default Anyone know of an aux input box at a reasonable price?

I've been looking around but I haven't seen one. Anyone have one for sale or know of any deals on these?

I looked at which car you owned to start.
Due to the fibre interface between the CDC and the head unit there really is only one piece out there. It's the one offered by Jaguar. I looked quite extensively too. So if I missed one let me know. If you have the other sound system that doesn't utilize the the fiber link then yes there are other alternatives. The guys who have done the most impressive entertainment system upgrades usually started with a car that does not have the touch screen interface and thus does not have the fiber link.

You can use the Jaguar audio interface kit to bring in RCA plug style input, USB or interface with an IPOD. It doesn't provide particularly sophisticated controls and the quality is limited to IPOD type DA conversion except for the aux input.

I beleive a high end system from Parrot can be interfaced via such an aux input but it's unclear to me whether the Parrot's bluetooth phone capability can be integrated any further than providing simple audio mute function during a phone call. I don't think it integrates with the Jag's built in phone controls but I haven't tried it.

Bob, have you done any research into the pricing on the aux box? Where's a good place to buy one?

Sorry but no. My car came with this already installed. I've read that there are 3 different versions of this box out there so try and get the latest one. I don't know if it's just a firmware update or what.

Mine has the AUX and Ipod connections but no USB. But I believe that's just because they installed it without a USB cable. I haven't been able to find the actual box as yet. They didn't install it in the suggested location behind the head unit.

I'm getting ready to install an AUX input adapter with a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IPOD connector, however it is using the radio antenna as the link into the system rather than the CD changer line.

I used a similar setup for my Sirius radio in my X type and the results were very good, sound quality was very good to excellent.

I plan on doing a write-up with pictures for those who may be interested.

Cost of the project - antenna adapters (2) are about $25. The input box kits range from $30 on up to over $100. I have an ISimple kit that was about $50.

Check out a previous post, on response #49 I add pictures of the ACM and the manual instructions.

Sadly I have not found the time to install yet. I hope to do so over the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up.

How's the sound quality on this option, using the fm anntena adapter?

Discussed the sound quality a bit here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...197#post276197

Not audiophile perfect, but good enough for me.
