Default Automatic Light Sensor

Hi again!

I recently had my driver side headlights replaced after an accident, and now that I have my vehicle back, when the the lights are in "auto" mode, they stay on all the time. Even when it's sunny outside. They didn't do that before. Is there anything I can check or clean before going back to the shop and possibly looking like an idiot for something that could be an easy fix?!? Could it be a pinched wore? Has anybody experienced this before?

Thank you!

im kind of guessing the age of your car .
but this link confirms some one has been here before .

in this case the sensor failed just after a head light was replaced.
the sensor is on the dash in the center otherwise known as the pats light .
read through this link from justanswer.

2002 S-Type: automatic headlights i..rearview mirror is the problem

I guess I'll take it to the shop and have them replace it if necessary. That way it's all documented for insurance purposes. Thank you! BTW, it is an 03 4.2. I thought that info showed up, I apologize for not specifying.

I don't think an insurance company will take responsibility for the senser , il be suprised if the senser was damaged by the accident or if you could prove the conection. See how you get on I guess .
